What Customers Say About DEWALT DCK988X 18-Volt XRP Hammer Drill/Impact Driver Kit:

What a great drill set. Tons of power, quick charge, two batteries. I've never owned an impact driver before this one but I don't think I can ever go without one again.
The quick release chuck on the DC925 impact driver is really quick and pretty easy to do one handed. Really great set. They have been used quite hard in our manufacturing business already and the guys LOVE them. Saves from having to carry another tool box around. The tools themselves are really well balanced, powerful, and solid feeling. One really nice feature that should be mentioned is that the included battery charger will charge lithium batteries, so down the road when the cost comes down on them, you are all set. I'm personally very impressed with the power and speed.
I can't seem to find much difference between the two, but the new self-tightening chuck and more powerful motor would be nice. I ordered 4 of these from another supplier, two for the company, one for one of the workers personally, and one for myself. The ratcheting chuck on the DC988 hammer drill is very solid and doesn't seem to know how to slip.I would knock the set down a half star if I could because I really think it should have come with the DC925 hammer drill, the DC988 is three generations old now. For what you get, it's a great price. I was a little hesitant on the bag at first rather then a plastic box, but it really is much handier because you can put in some bit sets and things like that, where the plastic box limits you to the drills and batteries only. That being said, the 988 is, as said, rock solid and a really nice drill regardless.
Both tools feature the newer small footprint battery flange, so the lithium batteries will fit and look right for those of you concerned with the cosmetics of your tools.
